About Elysha Ang

Elysha Ang is a Filipino-Chinese American Actor/Screenwriter/Director/ based in New Jersey. She graduated from Pace University in New York City, where she had an academic focus in Literature.

Elysha began her acting career in 2019 and has studied with studios like StageMilk and Howard Fine. Elysha has starred in a lead role in an International Adidas campaign along side supermodel, Karlie Kloss. And most recently starred in her two pieces, Girl’s Room (Short) and The Baby (Pilot). She continues to be very passionate about her craft and her training, working towards her goal of working in film/tv.

Elysha began writing in 2023, motivated by her love of film and TV and a strong awareness of the lack of AAPI representation in the industry. In response, she started crafting stories drawn from her own experiences as a Filipino- American. Elysha is passionate about bridging cultural gaps through screenwriting. In 2024, she completed her first feature film script and was honored as a winner of The Stephen Sondheim Foundation and the American Theatre Wing's Jonathan Larson Grant’s Rooftop Writers Initiative (2024) and a finalist for the Imagine This Women’s Film Festival (2024).

For directing, last year she completed her first short film (Girl’s Room) and her script received the Best First-Time Screenwriter award at the Oniros Film Awards, as well as won the Hollywood Just4Shorts Film and Screenplay Competition. She also has just finished directing her first pilot earlier in January and currently working on her second feature script.

As Elysha continues her acting and filmmaking career, she grows increasingly driven to share her stories and elevate AAPI voices that have long been underrepresented. Her primary goal as a creative is to create work that allows people who share her background and life experiences to feel seen and connected.
