After being near death at birth, Jalen spends the rest of his youth attempting to overcome the struggles of being a special needs child.

I live within driving distance of New York City. I am a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Business Management. I was a member of the varsity wrestling team while at YCP.. I also wrestled in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials on two different occasions.
All of my writing has focused on my experiences of being disabled, an athlete, a student, a husband and a parent. I have written published articles for School Bus Fleet, themat.com, Abilities.com, Working Mother Magazine, ADDitude and Disabled Magazine. I also concurrently coached wrestling which I am still doing to this day. I am also a husband and father of two. I have accomplished all of this in spite of being born with Cerebral Palsy.
My writing is from the perspective of someone with a disability I am looking to amplify the voices of a group underrepresented and marginalized.
